General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

What the GDPR is

The GDPR is a new data protection law in the EU which describes how personal data should be collected, stored and processed. The GDPR is a big improvement for customers by giving them insights into how their data is stored and processed.

What personal data we collect and why

When you register

• Email address: this is either the email address that you entered yourself, or the email address that is associated with your Google or Facebook account. We use this email to send you important information about your account and to prevent abuse of the system by only allowing each email address to be used once.
• Username: this is the public visible username which is used by other players in the game to identify you.
• Gender (optional): during the registration process you optionally enter your gender. We use this information to award you with in game cosmetics which we think are fitting for your gender. For example female users may receive more dress items, where as male players may receive beard items.

When you make a purchase

• Google or Apple purchase order number: this information is used to prevent abuse of the system by allowing each order to be used only once.

Where your personal data is stored

Personal data that you enter while using the app may be stored in data centers owned and maintained by Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) in the Germany. AWS complies with the GDPR requirements.

In addition some personal information may be stored in servers hosted in Frankfurt, Germany which are operated by DigitalOcean, LLC.

You have the right to

• Access your data: you can either view your personal data by opening the app, or by sending us an email to cult@bitdroid.de.
• Update your data: in the settings of the app you can update your data. If you have signed in with Google or Facebook and would like to change your email associated with that account, you must change the email address on the corresponding Google or Facebook website.
• Delete your data: in the settings of the app you can delete your account and any data which belongs to it. This operation cannot be undone!

3rd parties with whom personal data may be shared

• Google Inc.: this app uses Firebase for various tasks, such as login / registration and push notifications. Your email / Facebook / Google account information will be shared with Google Inc. during the registration. More information about Firebase and GDPR can be found here.

Other data

While using the app you will have the option to use a online chat to communicate with other players around the world. Information you write in the chat will also be stored in data centers owned by Amazon Web Services in the US. Please keep this in mind when using the chat.

Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this policy at any time by giving notice on this page. It is recommended you visit this page frequently to stay up to date with any changes that may happen.
